Cobiogum® is a 100% vegetable gelling agent obtained from the seeds of Caesalpinia spinosa, a Peruvian plant popularly known as Tara, which is rich in galactomannans and polysaccharides.
This ingredient makes it possible to obtain serums and gels with a light, silky feel and no stickiness, without the need for heating.
Cobiogum® also enables the development of stable formulations over a wide pH range (3.0 to 10.0), and is compatible with cosmetic actives that are difficult to stabilize, such as surfactants, strong acids, salts and electrolytes.
In addition, studies have shown the ability of this gelling agent to stabilize a concentration of up to 50% alpha-hydroxy acids.

The cosmetics market is constantly reinventing itself, adapting to the demands of increasingly discerning consumers. In this context, a major trend is the development of natural and vegan formulations.
When we talk about this subject, we immediately come across acrylate, a component commonly found in cosmetics which, because it is not biodegradable, accumulates in the environment for years.
So, among the natural alternatives for formulations developed with this component or others to synthetic gelling agents, Cobiogum® stands out, an ingredient that allows the manipulation of serums and gels with high stability and excellent sensory properties, through a fast and totally cold process.
