Imunel is a unique product obtained from the fermentation of Saccharomyces cerevisiaeyeast . It is standardized to 60% nucleotides and stabilized in acacia gum.
Nucleotides are fundamental for the formation of DNA and RNA, as well as being essential for biochemical processes such as cell metabolism and signaling pathways.
Acacia gum, on the other hand, is a prebiotic fiber that has a large molecular structure and is therefore slowly fermented by intestinal bacteria, not causing the discomforts related to other fibers available on the market.
Imunel is produced by Nexira, a French company that has been on the market for over 100 years. A world leader in acacia gum (gum arabic), it is a respected supplier of innovative ingredients and active ingredients obtained sustainably from nature.
Nucleotides
Acacia gum
Nucleotides are made up of a pentose, one or more linked phosphate groups and a nitrogenous base, which can be of the purine (uracil, cytosine and thymine) or pyrimidine (adenine and guanine) class. They were discovered between the 19th and 20th centuries, along with nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) and their double helix structure.
They play a fundamental role in the structural formation of DNA and RNA, which act in the storage and transmission of genetic information in all cells, as well as being indispensable in certain biochemical processes, such as cell metabolism and signaling pathways.
Nucleotides are produced by a process that occurs naturally in the body (endogenous) and can also be obtained through breast milk, food and supplementation (exogenous), which can contribute to their endogenous production.
Studies have shown that a lack or deficiency of nucleotides in the diet can impair important functions in the body, such as intestinal, hepatic and, above all, immunological functions, so nucleotides can be classified as semi-essential nutrients.
Some biological processes, such as the synthesis of tissues with a high rate of renewal, require a sufficient supply of nucleotides for the rapid synthesis of DNA and RNA. In addition, times of stress, ageing and conditions associated with reduced immune system activity directly influence nucleotide synthesis, affecting the body's homeostasis.
