PURE CERAMIDE III POWDER® (EVONIK)

Support in care

Reorganization of intercellular lipids

It is a ceramide identical to those found in the human stratum corneum (N-stearoyl phytosphingosine), which is essential for the integrity of the epidermal lipid barrier. It works by reorganizing intercellular lipids (cholesterol, free fatty acids, and ceramides), reducing transepidermal water loss and promoting long-lasting hydration in dry, sensitive, and aging skin, as well as in skin affected by conditions such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.

Composition

INCI: N-stearoyl phytosphingosine.

Ceramide with saturated fatty acid (stearic acid)

High affinity for hair fibers

In addition to topical application, Pure Ceramide III Powder® has a high affinity for hair fibers, helping to restore damaged hair by improving the cohesion of cuticle cells and limiting the loss of water-soluble peptides. It acts as a repairing agent for hair subjected to chemical processes (dyeing, straightening), heat damage, and UV radiation, and is especially recommended for use in conditioners, leave-in treatments, and heat-activated products for dry, damaged, and ethnic hair.
Properties:
• A ceramidebelonging to the group that accounts for 40–65% of the lipids in the stratum corneum, key to the integrity of the barrier.
• Structure based on sphingosine/phytosphingosine, with a specific stereochemical configuration that allows the formation of a physical barrier against water loss.
Organized into a multilamellar complex with cholesterol and free fatty acids, filling the intercellular space of the stratum corneum.
