ID-alG™ is an extract of brown seaweed(Ascophyllum nodosum), a species found in the crystal-clear waters off the coast of Brittany in France.
To respect this valuable natural resource and the marine environment, the brown seaweed is harvested all year round through a careful and eco-friendly process. After being sorted in the ocean, the long leaves are checked again before the first processing stages. 45kg of fresh seaweed (or 9kg of dried seaweed) generates 1kg of dried seaweed extract.
ID-alG™ is rich in essential nutrients, marine polyphenols and trace elements, which are found in levels up to 20 times higher than in vegetables and fruit.

Brown seaweed is considered one of nature's finest foods. They have a unique nutritional composition rich in micronutrients. They are a great source of minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, copper, potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc and cobalt, as well as amino acids, fiber and trace elements that are essential for maintaining the body's metabolic activities. They also have the unique ability to concentrate iodine from the ocean, an important mineral for the synthesis of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4).
The marine polyphenols present in brown seaweed are called florotannins and constitute an extremely heterogeneous group of molecules with a wide range of biological and nutritional properties.
Due to their high nutritional value, seaweed has been consumed for thousands of years as a traditional food in Asian culture, being served in approximately 21% of Japanese meals, one of the longest-lived peoples in the world.
