It is a plant-based neurocosmetic derived from the skins and seeds of tomatoes ( Solanum lycopersicum L.), developed for the care of sensitive, reactive, and reddened skin. Its mechanism of action is linked to the skin-brain connection, helping the skin respond in a more balanced way to the effects of stress.

The active ingredient acts on the so-called Skin-Brain Axis, with neurocosmetic action supported by the modulation of salivary cortisol, a physiological biomarker associated with stress. This approach enhances its effects beyond the skin’s surface, linking skin comfort, emotional well-being, and the psychophysiological response to stress.

Intelligene® Defense works by reducing the release of the neuropeptide CGRP, which is associated with skin sensitivity and neurogenic inflammation. It also helps reduce TRPV1, a mechanism linked to redness, burning, and discomfort in sensitive skin.
