Extract from the juice of the Moro orange grown exclusively in the area around the Etna volcano in eastern Sicily (Italy). The color of the pulp is an intense red, due to the high content of anthocyanins, which is not usually found in other citrus fruits. These characteristics only develop when orange trees are grown in specific climatic and environmental conditions, such as those in the small area of eastern Sicily.
It has technical-scientific documentation evaluated and approved by ANVISA as a bioactive substance, a source of anthocyanins, endorsing its safety for use.
Studies have demonstrated the antioxidant activity of Moro orange juice through in vitro tests and this action is due to the content of total phenolic compounds.
Polyphenolic antioxidants act as free radical scavengers and metal chelators, limiting the oxidative process.
Among the polyphenols are hydroxycinnamic, caffeic and ferulic acids, which are the most studied compounds in scientific literature.
Morosil™ has no indication for preparation for injectable use.
