SENSILINE 2® (SILAB)

Comprehensive skin care.

It is an anti-irritant active ingredient developed by Silab (France) for the care of sensitive, fragile, or sensitized skin. It works by reducing erythema and stinging caused by various skin irritants (sun, cold, wind, pollution, excessive washing, cosmetic procedures), helping to restore the skin’s comfort and tolerance.

SENSILINE 2® is indicated for the prevention and treatment of irritation in sensitive and fragile skin, including that of children and the elderly, as well as sensitized skin (post-peel, post-laser) and naturally reactive skin. It can be incorporated into sunscreens, after-sun products, soothing moisturizers, and post-procedure lotions, forming part of comprehensive “sensitive skin” regimens and strengthening Galena’s portfolio in this segment.

The active ingredient consists primarily of purified fractions of polysaccharides and peptidoglycans from flaxseeds, which provide a dual protective action:

Physical protection: the polysaccharides form a film on the skin’s surface, limiting the penetration of irritants.
Biological protection: the peptidoglycans saturate receptors on the glycoprotein membrane of keratinocytes, interfering with activation pathways that would lead to the synthesis and storage of IL-1α, a key molecule in inflammation. Thus, SENSILINE 2® inhibits the release of IL-1α without compromising the skin’s immune system.

Usual concentration:

2% to 7%

The final pH of the formulation must be maintained above 6.0.
